About the Role

We are looking for a CAD/QA Technician to join our team. This role involves ensuring the quality of CAD designs, reviewing revisions, and improving our processes to achieve a high pass rate for permits and interconnection applications. We are seeking someone with strong technical skills and a passion for solar energy and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review CAD Revisions: Conduct technical reviews of all CAD revisions that need resubmission due to rejections from regulatory authorities (AHJ or Utility).
• Training and Process Development: Develop training materials for the CAD Review department to ensure all reviewers can audit designs for accuracy and code compliance.
• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the Rejection Analysis Team to identify areas for improvement in the CAD Review process.
• Feedback Loop: Provide constructive feedback to CAD Designers when a design fails review, ensuring the correction of any issues.
• Process Improvement: Strengthen the CAD Review process to achieve a 95% first-time pass rate for permits and interconnections.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in Solar Industry: Previous experience in the solar industry is a must.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software; knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Sheets.
• Design Skills: Ability to create accurate, detailed construction drawings and demonstrate structural, mechanical, and electrical design skills.
• Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• AutoCAD: 2 years (Required)
• Drafting: 3 years (Preferred)
• Quality Assurance: 2 years (Preferred)
• Solar Industry: 2 years (Required)
• CAD Quality Assurance: 3 years (Required)
